Heading to Zillmer now. Wait for some snow and a good grooming before trying these trails.

Should have skied further yesterday. The track only lasts ½ mile then there is just chopped up walked on crusty dangerous yuk 0 stars.

Not groomed for skate or classic skiing. I only skated a short distance into the loop, but the track set by skiers actually looks ok (see photo). Skaters forget it. All the hiking down the middle of the trail has ruined any chance of even a marginally fun ski. 2 1/2 stars for classic skiers if the remainder of the loop is like the beginning.

Trails not groomed, plenty of snow for grooming though. Probably end up with a 2 to 3 inch base.

Oliver has raised the funds to procure the old grooming equipment form the greenbush ski club. Looks like nice groomed trails in 2012.

We're getting fresh snow today. Hope a groomer gets out early tomorrow to set a track & pack it down for skating. Please no hiking!

Kiekhaefer Trails
During the winter months Kiekaefer is 120 acres of sledding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails. Snowmobiles also utilize one of the trails. The skiing, hiking, snowshoe and snowmobile, trails start after a large field area near the main lot.
The snowboard/sledding hills are near the parking lot and 1/2 mile into the trail system on the left. Some of the hills near the lot are extremely steep and dangerous and are not recommended for snowboarding or sledding.
The right most trail is for snowmobilers and is marked accordingly. The skiing trails are clearly marked. However, hikers are frequently found walking on the ski trails too. I believe the ski trails are occasionally groomed but in most cases are in only fair to good condition, do to all the foot traffic. PLEASE do not hike on ski trails. Kiekhaefer Trailhead Location
Kiekhaefer park area is on Kiekhaefer Parkway, five miles north of Hwy 23 and the city of Fond du Lac .There is a main parking lot on the north side of Kiekhaefer Parkway.
